Another experiment to see what mediums work well together. I think I'm finally happy with this technique. The winning combination was brought together by the type of illustration board. The other ones I've tried just weren't suited for watercolors and didn't have much tooth. This one was extra thick and didn't warp or bubble when wet. I have a feeling it was the 5 dollar board. argh. I think I may start using this combination more in the future for some of my commissions since my markers are pretty much dead. I hope ya like it!

Faun Costume by Laura Whent

I decided to make a faun as my personal costume for 2006. It gave me the excuse to work with and try several things I hadn't been able to before, and I'm actually quite pleased with the results. I'd like to get a set of leather armor made for this at some point, and even later on I plan on using this as a base for a more complex demoness costume.

First art of 2008! Four elemental animals done as sticker and magnet designs for Further Confusion 2008, which I will be at in the dealer's room. I wanted to have some fun cool looking stickers I could sell at my dealer's table, and at future cons as well. So I picked a theme that's fun and pretty popular, and everyone can relate to and appreciate. I would like to do more themed sticker sets like this in the future, but I don't have the time before FC. The originals paintings and the sticker/magnets will all be at FC, so if you're going stop by my table! I've been working all winter break on these, so hopefully someone out there will want some stickers. ^^ Done with fluid acrylics (like watercolour) and coloured pencil on bristol Copyright to Katie Hofgard
